Please note that all subscriptions for 2008 are due on the 31st, December 07 and any Member wishing to resign should tell The Secretary on or before this date.
If you wish to join “The Shirley Club” and benefit from the excellent facilities we offer you would first need to visit us and ask for a Member of The Committee to show you around. If you like what we have to offer you would need to fill in an application form which is available from behind the Bar.
If you happen to know an existing Member you can ask them to sponsor you, however, if this is your first contact with The Club a brief interview process would be requested then this would allow you temporary admittance where you would need to be signed in for 6 visits. Once you have visited 6 times your Membership form is placed on the Club notice board for 7 days. If any existing Member does not feel you are an acceptable candidate for Membership they can request that you are not offered Membership.
This is not a method of stopping you from joining, however it does, enable us to choose and vet the type of Member we feel is suitable. After the 7-day period you are asked for an interview with The President and Vice-President who will explain the history of The Club and go through the Rule Book with you.
At this point you are asked to pay a joining fee and subscription fee (joining is a one off £50.00 and Membership £60.00 pa). On completion of this you can vote in the Club elections and become a shareholder. We are open to both male and female Membership and are not discriminatory by colour or ethnic origins.
The Membership enables joint Membership for Member and Partner and entitles you both to come to functions free of any extras.
We are a social Club and try to make you welcome at all times, we have a full Entertainment calendar and low priced Bar, come along and meet us.
